Cilia Flores, full name Cilia Adela Gavidia Flores is a Venezuelan politician, lawyer, and the wife of the current President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. She is arguably the most influential female figure within the Venezuelan government and the Chavismo movement. She is widely known by the Venezuelan people as “La Primera Combatiente” or the First Combatant. She is a trained lawyer and former head of Venezuela’s National Assembly where she played a central role in shaping the country’s political system and protecting Maduro’s rule.
